Octopus Plant

The Octopus Plant, or Sansevieria cylindrica, is a succulent evergreen perennial hailing from the Asparagaceae family. Native to tropical regions of Africa, this is a low-maintenance and drought-resistant plant owing to its ability to store water in its leaves. It features a distinct cylindrical or fan-like shape and, in the wild, can grow up to 5 feet tall. Its glossy dark-green leaves have yellow-green mottling on them, which occurs as the result of the plant experiencing stress due to not having enough water. These leaves may also appear a vivid green and have distinct ridges running vertically upwards. Flowers are small, whitish-green and grow in clusters of up to 30-50 on a single inflorescence.
