Cryptanthus zonatus

Cryptanthus zonatus (also known as Earth Star) is an evergreen, ornamental plant that originates from Brazil. It is one of the most popular and widely grown type of houseplant from the Cryptanthus family. It is low-growing and typically stays 1-3 inches high on average, however it can spread up to 10 inches in width. C.zonatus is known for its robust foliage pattern, with intricately variegated leaves that are elliptic, dark green, and have a pink flushed margin. The leaves are thick and leathery, with a distinct outward curve. The flower of this plant is a small rosette with white petals, and its flower structure often resembles a miniature sunflower.
