Queen Palm

The Queen Palm (Syagrus romanzoffiana) is a tall, stately palm native to South America. This palm variety reaches heights of up to 50 feet with a trunk diameter of 12 inches. The canopies of the Queen Palm are large reaching up to 38 feet in diameter. The palms’ get their name from the abundant orange fruit clusters that hang over the canopies, which are reminiscent of a Queens crown. The Queen Palm can be grown in many soil variety, yet prefers sandy-well-drained soil. The Queen Palm is often used as an ornamental planting due to its aesthetic beauty and slow growth rate.
