Eyelike Moss

Eyelike Moss (Homalia trichomanoides) is an attractive and unique looking houseplant hailing from South Africa. This odd-looking variety of moss grows in an almost circular, rosette-like formation, with individual stems curling in a neat and compact rosette pattern. Its appearance is palmate, with individual strands radiating outwards from the centre. The stems are usually bright green in color, but they can also be light purple, blue, or even light pink. It’s an unusual and captivating plant that will add a unique look of direction to your home or office. It enjoys slightly cooler, indirect bright light, but is also tolerant of full sunlight and some shade. It survives moderate humidity levels but prefers more than what most tropical plants require. Water the plant deeply and infrequently, once every 1 to 2 weeks, and allow the plant to dry out before each watering. Optimal temperature is between 40- 75 °F (5-24 °C). Avoid drastic temperature changes, as Eyelike Moss is sensitive to cold and hot drafts. Controlling humidity is a matter of misting the leaves and surrounding area as often as needed.
